Cheryl Hooker

Vice President – People & Culture

Cheryl is a HR leader who brings both a strategic focus and creative mindset in support of organizations and people. With over 25 years of experience in HR, she is a true generalist with proven results in all areas of talent and performance management, leadership, engagement, coaching, culture shaping and philanthropy. As VP of People and Culture for Skilken Gold, and a member of its Leadership Team, Cheryl will translate business objectives into meaningful and successful organizational, people and culture-enhancing strategies.

Before joining Skilken Gold, Cheryl served as Director, HR for Old Navy supporting their Central Territory. Prior to that, Cheryl spent 15 years at Express where she was the VP, HR for all corporate functions, including their NYC design studio and the field. She has worked in organizations both public and private and began her HR career in the non-profit sector.

Cheryl’s passion is giving back and leveraging her HR skillset in the community helping others navigate the workplace. As the past president of Dress for Success Columbus, she has mentored and supported many women seeking economic advancement and managing employment challenges. She has conducted re-entry classes at Ohio Reformatory for Women, workshops at Columbus College of Art and Design and The Ohio State University sharing strategies with students on how to network, interview and manage a job search. She is an active volunteer with several agencies in Columbus.
