National real estate developer, Skilken Gold, announced today that the company has closed on the purchase of an approximately two-acre site in Latrobe, Pennsylvania, a suburb of Pittsburgh and home to the Pittsburgh Steelers training camp.
The property is already leased to Sheetz, the nationally acclaimed restaurant and convenience chain, based in Claysburg, Pennsylvania. Sheetz will begin construction at the site as early as next month, with a projected store opening by the end of the year.
“This is an extremely desirable location, offering high traffic counts and easy accessibility, in a very supply-constrained real estate market,“ said Isaac Gold, Vice President of Real Estate at Skilken Gold. “We’re excited about the transaction and look forward to the ribbon cutting.”
Skilken Gold is locating several other sites in Pennsylvania for Sheetz, but is most active in Central Ohio, where the company is Sheetz’s exclusive real estate developer. Although the number and locations of the Ohio stores have not yet been disclosed, Skilken Gold has placed several sites under contract and is locating and verifying others to achieve Sheetz’s aggressive market penetration goals.
“Sheetz is an innovative category leader, and we’re thrilled to be a partner in its growth,” said Gold.
