Oak Street Health, a Chicago-based network of clinics for Medicare beneficiaries, will be opening a new facility at 4271 West Third Street in the Westown Shopping Center. Owned and operated by national real estate developer, Skilken Gold, the prominent retail center is situated in densely-populated West Dayton, across the street from the VA Medical Center and about 3.5 miles from downtown.

With construction already underway, the single-story health clinic is anticipated to open this summer. Clune Construction Co. is the general contractor for the building.

“We’re excited to welcome such an innovator to Westown and to Dayton,” said Emily Waterman, Leasing Manager for Skilken Gold. “Oak Street Health is transforming healthcare with its value-based, managed-care model and serves an important segment of our population.”

The company currently operates 55 centers in eight states, each serving an average of 3,500 patients. According to a recent company press release, significant expansion is planned for the network in 2020, continuing its impressive growth trajectory to date. As quoted in the press release, by Tamara Jurgenson, Chief Growth Officer of Oak Street Health, “We are deeply committed to providing integrated, preventive care that helps seniors live their best lives, and our planned growth for early 2020 reflects this commitment.”

“Our community-based approach makes a meaningful difference in our patients’ health outcomes, and we strive to reach as many people as we can,” Jurgenson continues. We’re excited for our care teams to become pillars in these new communities, and for Oak Street Health to make a positive economic impact as we have in our existing markets across the country.”
