The sixth Sheetz restaurant and convenience store opened this morning in Central Ohio—although this one is the first inside I-270, Columbus fans will be eager to know.

Another treat for fans is Sheetz’s brand new Bahama Mama, which the company has dubbed “ the official food of Columbus.” The premium sausage sandwich, served in a hot dog bun or on top of a pretzel bun, is now on the menu in Hilliard and at all 47 of its locations in Ohio.

The new Hilliard store, built on the site of the former Max and Erma’s restaurant at the southeast corner of Cemetery Road and Parkway Lane, began its Grand Opening festivities at 9 am with multiple prizes awarded, including the giveaway of $1500 in Sheetz gift cards. A Ribbon-Cutting Ceremony followed at 11 am, and free self-serve coffee and soda will welcome customers throughout the entire Grand-Opening day.

“We’re excited to see Sheetz open its sixth store in Central Ohio—and elated that the company has been achieving spectacular sales in the metro area,” said Isaac Gold, Vice President of Real Estate for Skilken Gold, Sheetz’s exclusive Central Ohio real estate developer. ”And the countdown is on for yet more stores coming this year.”

Deeply committed to the communities it serves and in honor of this grand opening, Sheetz will donate $2,500 to the Mid-Ohio Food Collective, which provides more than 155,000 meals every day and distributes more than 60 million pounds of food annually to hungry individuals across central and eastern Ohio. Customers attending the grand opening were encouraged to donate a non-perishable food item to the Food Bank. Participants received a Sheetz branded thermal bag, while supplies lasted from 9-11 a.m.

Additionally, Sheetz will donate $2,500 to the Special Olympics of Ohio. A proud supporter of the Special Olympics for more than 25 years, Sheetz also extends its support to the organization through product donations and event volunteers.

Sheetz currently operates 630 store locations across Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Virginia, West Virginia, Ohio and Maryland, with all locations open 24/7, 365 days a year.
